What is one Privilege you have that you often take for granted?
Learn the power of practicing gratitude daily, here is why…
I have noticed that the older I get the less I complain about small things. If I’m sick, I take medicine, if it’s cold outside where a jacket, if the food sucks at a restaurant think about that one appetizer that did taste good. I have been looking at the positive side on different occasions in life, not in a toxic way but in a way that helps me surpass my negative thoughts. I have practiced the art of gratitude at such a high level that hearing others complain about small setbacks sometimes bothers me because I’m a natural problem solver. As a mother of four children, I have had some real-life challenges because not only is it difficult to care for yourself, but it’s also tough to care for your children when you have a whole list of responsibilities to tackle throughout the day.
I have been taught at a young age that if you don’t know something you either learn or act like you know. So, I’m a natural goal getter and it didn’t start until I was afraid. There’s something about living in a state of fear of failure that puts us in a fight or flight mode. It’s a natural state for us to strive for excellence but we have to accept that there will always be setbacks along the way and keep going.
