How Latina’s feel when they put on a pair of Hoop Earrings

My first pair of hoop earrings were put on me when I was 2 years old. Same experience for my two year old daughter. Big name earing’s was a big deal and the style back then, and is still the style for some. Just like other Latina’s, I had the name earrings too with the name chain and even a name bracelet. Yes, it may sound excessive, but it was and still is a trend.

To some people big hoop earrings are a stylish accessory to what your wearing, but to a Latina wearing hoop earrings is a form of expression. When I put on my hoops, I feel like I can conquer anything. I get a self-esteem boost with my hoops on, and can’t no body tell me anything. With hoops on, you feel confident to take on the day whether you’re going out to run errands or you’re meeting up with your girl friends or maybe even a date night with your man. A pair of hoops is like the cherry on top to your whole outfit.

What I love about hoops is you can put them on with the comfiest outfit or dressiest outfit. I wear my hoops with a hoodie on or even sweatpants and a colorful lipstick then "boom I’m cute.” Hoops can shift your mood.

I went to catholic school most of my life so I was not aloud to wear hoops bigger then the size of a quarter. Is this still a rule ? because if so I’m protesting! I hated this rule, simply because I felt…
